WCSO Alerts: Patrols increased in Loganville area due to rash of vehicle break-ins

Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced it has increased patrols in the Loganville area of the county due to a rash of vehicle break-ins late last week.

“All cases are being investigated by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division,” WCSO announced it its latest Community Alert. “Please make sure your vehicles are secured at all times and all valuables are removed from your vehicles.

The following WCSO Community Alerts were reported for Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

ZONE 1

Citation- One motorist was cited at a business in the area of Highway 138 for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce following a suspicious activity call.

ZONE 2

Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of Willow Springs Church Road. No life threatening injuries. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene of the accident.

ZONE 3

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Highway 83. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests in reference to this Safety Check.
Citations in reference to this Safety Check:

  • One motorist cited for Driving without a License.
  • One motorist cited for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce.
  • One juvenile passenger cited for Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Possession of a Handgun by a Person under 18.
  • One juvenile passenger cited for Possession of a Handgun by a Person under 18.

ZONE 4

Suspicious Person- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Shoal Creek Road in reference to an unknown individual banging on complainants door. Individual was gone prior to deputies arrival. Deputies thoroughly checked the area, but had no contact with anyone. Complainant advised to contact law enforcement with further suspicious activity, everything okay.

ZONE 6

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to seven residences in the area of Green Mill Drive in Green Mill Subdivision to take reports of several vehicles being entered and multiple items being taken.

  • One complainant reported two firearms, money and bullets taken from their vehicle. Firearms placed on the national database as stolen.
  • One complainant reported a firearm and a 6 round magazine taken from their vehicle. Firearm placed on national database as stolen.
  • One complainant reported a wallet taken from their vehicle.
  • Other four residences noticeably had their vehicles entered due to items being taken out of their gloves boxes and consoles, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to three residences in the area of Oakland Lane in Oakland Brook Subdivision to take reports of several vehicles being entered and multiple items being taken.

  • One complainant reported a heavy duty flashlight taken from their vehicle.
  • Two complainants reported money taken from their vehicle.

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Guthrie Road to take a report of an unknown individual entering complainant’s vehicle and taking an iPad, Credit Card and Mobile Printer. IPad was placed on the national database as stolen.

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Yorkshire Court in Yorshire Subdivision to take a report of an unknown individual entering complainant’s vehicle and tampering with items inside the vehicle by taking items out of their glovebox and consoles, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to two residences in the area of McCullers Lane in McCullers Acres subdivision to take a report of several vehicles being entered and multiple items being taken.

  • One complainant reported money and a prescription being taken from their vehicle.
  • One complainant reported two vehicles at their residence were entered and a pair of sunglasses, money and several tools taken from vehicle.

Entering Auto- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of North Sharon Church Road in reference to an unknown individual entering complainant’s vehicle and tampering with items inside the vehicle by taking items out of their glove box and consles, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in the area of Claude Brewer Road in reference to speeding vehicles in the area.

Theft- Deputies responded to a residence in the area of Sunny Hill Drive to take a report of an unknown individual taking complainants trailer, several tools and 4 tires from their property unlawfully. Trailer was placed on the national database as stolen.

Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 20 and Centerhill Church Road. No injuries. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.

Arrest- Jeremiah Shetter was arrested at a residence in the area of Tom Brewer Road for an outstanding Probation Violation warrant out of Walton County.

ZONE 7

Shoplifting- Deputies responded to the Dollar General in the area of Highway 81 in reference to two unknown individuals, a white male and a white female, taking several items from the business without paying.

Vehicle Accident- Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the area of Highway 81 and Centerhill Church Road. No injuries. Georgia State Patrol handled the scene of the accident.
