Loganville names assistant fire chief

With Loganville Fire Chief Danny Roberts moving into the position of City Manager due to the retirement of City Manager Bill Jones, an assistant fire chief has been named to take over the day-to-day business of the Loganville Fire Department.
Assistant Fire Chief Carl Morrow took over the position effective Feb. 1. He was introduced at the Loganville City Council work session on Feb. 6.

“I want to extend my appreciation to the city council and city manager for allowing me to move up. I appreciate you putting your confidence in me and I won’t let you down,” Morrow said, adding that he’s been told that he has big shoes to fill in following in the footsteps of Roberts. He said not only does he intend to fill them, but he intends to do so and then keep on going.

Morrow has been with the Loganville Fire Department since April 1998 and Roberts said he believes that Morrow is the right person for the job.

“Carl has been a dedicated member of the fire department for a long time and has always stepped up when needed. His years of experience and knowledge of the department and fellow firefighters will prove to be a true asset in managing the day-to-day operations,” Roberts said.
