The Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of North and Center Georgia warns of the potential for strong storms this afternoon and evening. According to the National Weather Service, a few strong storms are possible as an area of showers and thunderstorms over Alabama move into Georgia. The storms had caused some damage out west earlier on in the day, but are expected to weaken as they move through the local area.
A few of these storms produce gusty winds, pea-sized hail, and frequent lightning. The best area for strong storms is west of a line from Carrollton to Macon to McRae, and mainly through 10 p.m. this evening.
