A New York man was arrested following an early morning accident yesterday in Gwinnett County that left a 44-year-old Atlanta man dead and injured his 23-year-old passenger.
According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, Joshua Boone, 23, of Syracuse, NY, was charged with homicide by vehicle 1st degree, serious injury by motor vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, driving under the influence and reckless driving after he collided with another vehicle while traveling north on the southbound lanes of I-85. Kippy Glover died at the scene and the woman who was a passenger in his car was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with serious injuries. Boone was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He was arrested following his medical treatment.
The investigators say that just after 3 a.m., Boone was traveling north on I-85 in the southbound lanes when he collided with Glover just north of Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Boone has since bonded out of Gwinnett County Detention Center.
