At a called meeting Thursday, the Loganville City Council voted to appoint Loganville Fire Chief Danny Roberts as city manger, to replace outgoing City Manager Bill Jones who is retiring at the end of February.
Robbie Schwartz, public information officer for the city of Loganville, said Roberts will take up his appointment effective March 1. Roberts was appointed assistant city manager last year and has served in the dual role ever since. He was featured in a recent issue of Walton Living Magazine. Schwartz said it is unclear at this time whether or when they will appoint or hire a new fire chief.
In other business at the called meeting, the council also approved speed humps for Teresa Lane as well as the audit for the City of Loganville.
