Obituary: Gladys Jones Campbell, 88, of Loganville

A Graveside Service was held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. Pastor Steve Hammack officiated. The family received friends at the graveside following the service.
Gladys retired from the DeKalb County School System where she worked many years as a cafeteria worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Campbell; brothers, Lucius Jones, Somers Jones, Marvin Jones; sister, Virginia Spivey; and son-in-law, James Meeks. She is survived by her children, Lonnie (Susan) Campbell of Eatonton, Willene Meeks of Stone Mountain, Bobby (Jan) Campbell of Loganville; grandchildren, Niki Howard, Chad Campbell, Todd (Ashlyn) Meeks, Ryan Huff, Jalayne (Adam) Lane, Jeremy (Danielle) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Jessi Howard, Jake Howard, Caleb Howard, Hayden Campbell, Noah Lane, Cam Huff, Abby Lane, Bernisha Campbell, Sada Campbell, Malachi Campbell, Mercy Campbell, Jasper Campbell; sister, Betty Turner; caretaker, Tina Anderson; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Awinjo Ministries, or P.O. Box 1832, Loganville, GA 30052. Awinjo Ministries is a children’s home that cares for orphans and vulnerable children in Tororo, Uganda, East Africa. Awinjo Ministries is run by Jeremy and Danielle Campbell, Gladys’ grandson.
