The Walton County Beekeepers Association is offering a one-day short course for beginners in January. The course is scheduled to take place from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Walton EMC, 842 Highway 78 NW, in Monroe.
The cost for this course is $65 and includes:
- A continental breakfast, catered lunch and snacks
- One-year Membership (through Dec. 2017) in the Walton County Beekeepers Association.

Guest Speaker, Brett Nolan IV, has a Bachelors in Wildlife Biology and a Masters in Entomology from Clemson University. He was introduced to the UGA Honey Bee Program during a joint UGA-Clemson research program and, after finishing his Masters, moved to Athens to continue his education at UGA. He completed his PhD this spring. Nolan has given many talks to clubs and local schools and served as an annual instructor at the Young Harris/UGA Beekeeping Institute.
