Loganville, GWA move on to next round in playoffs

The 2016 football season ended Friday for two more Walton County teams while two move on to Round 2 of the Georgia High School Football Playoffs. Scores from Friday night’s playoff games follow, courtesy of Maxpreps.com

Loganville High School’s football team won the first game in the playoffs, beating Riverwood 24-10 at Home on Nov. 11.

“Loganville Red Devils first playoff victory in 25 Years!  Headed to Waycross, GA next week!  Go Red Devils!” said an excited Linda Brown, of Loganville. The Red Devils take on Ware County in Waycross on Nov. 18. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs beat Mt. Vernon Presbyterian in the first game of the playoffs 38-14. The Bulldogs take on Fellowship Christian in Round 2 of the playoffs. The Walnut Grove Warriors were in the playoffs for the first time in the schools history, but did not manage to fend of Grady, losing 42 – 8 to effectively bring their 2016 football season to an end.
