WCSO Alerts: Fraud report after money wired for online dog purchase

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following Community Alerts for Monday, June 20, 2016. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Zone 1
Arrest – Christopher Cody was arrested for Terroristic Threats and Acts, Cruelty to Children 3rd degree and Criminal Trespass following a dispute on Cannon Farm Rd.

Zone 2
Fraud – Resident on E Hightower Trl wired money to a subject in New Orleans, Louisiana for the purchase of a canine from a listing on a website.  The place where the money was sent turned out to be a gas station.

Theft Report – Resident on HD Atha Rd. reported his wallet was stolen between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on June 19, 2016.

Zone 3
Damage to Property – Resident on Pannell Rd. reported his mailbox was damaged by a vehicle between June 18 and June 20, 2016.

Damage to Property – Resident on Pannell Rd. reported his mailbox damaged by a vehicle on June 20, 2016 between 1:00 a.m. and 6:20 a.m.

Zone 4
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Tom C. Camp Rd. and Partain Rd.  Deputies checked for required driving criteria:  Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.  No citations issued or arrests made.

Zone 5
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Nicholsville Rd. and Fannie Thompson Rd.  Deputies checked for required driving criteria:  Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.  Teresa Garduno was given a citation for Driving while Unlicensed.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check Bay Creek Church Rd. and Old Zion Cemetery Rd.  Deputies checked for required driving criteria:  Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.  Manuel Guevara was given a citation for Driving while Unlicensed.

Zone 6
Burglary Report – A trailer at a business on Hwy 81 was entered.  An Appion Recovery Machine and Copper were missing.

Zone 7
Damage to Property – Resident on New Horizon Dr. reported damage to her 2012 Chevrolet Silverado.  She believes the damaged occurred at the Walmart in Loganville.

Juvenile Problem – Resident on Nunnally Trace reported four juveniles were possibly smoking marijuana behind his residence.  Area checked.  Juveniles were gone upon deputy’s arrival but odor of marijuana was still present.
