KSU is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The weather is supposed to be sunny and dry, getting up to the high 80s by the afternoon for the 18th Annual Ride for America – Thunder in the Country. However, there is a Code Orange Poor Air Quality Alert in place until 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening.
The event cost is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger. The funds help support the Legacy Fund, a scholarship for children of the fallen. The ride is organized by the American Legion riders, headed up by Legion rider and co-founder of the event, Stan Mauldin. The public is reminded that a good way to thank the Veterans for their service is to get out and line the route to thank the riders as they pass.
