UPDATE: Melanie Zajac reports that Toby, the lab-mix rescued by Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies after being shot in the nose, has been adopted. A happy end to what began as such a sad story.

Initial Story

In February this year, Toby, the lab mix rescued by Walton County Sheriff’s Deputies, made the rounds on the local news channels.

After being shot in the nose, he was taken in by WCSO Dave Zajac and his wife, Melanie, and nursed back to health with the help of Bliss Animal Haven in Loganville. He went through multiple surgeries under the care of Dr. Asha Wise with Monroe Veterinary Clinic and spent time as a foster in the home of the Zajacs.

Well now Toby is ready to find his ‘furever home,’ the home that will give him a permanent safe and happy life. He went from being an outside dog to one that is used to being a loved and appreciated member of a family.

Take a look at the video by Bliss Animal Haven and decide if your home is that forever home for Toby. After taking care of him and helping nurse him back to health, Melanie Zajac and the staff of Bliss Animal Haven want to make sure that he finds just the right home.
