Loganville was the first to score in the Friday night match up between the two arch rivals, putting 7 on the board in the first quarter and never really looking back. In a major upset Loganville ended the game with a final score of 28 to 12 over the Monroe Purple Hurricanes.
This was a turnaround from the previous two years. In 2012, the ‘Canes were victorious, pulling off a 50-7 win and last year, Monroe again won with a final score of 48-21.
Next week, Monroe Hurricanes come home to face the Walnut Grove Warriors. Loganville has a bye before traveling to Conyers to take on Heritage on Sept. 9.
