Memorial Day Ride for America – Thunder in the Country

The 16th annual Ride for America will leave from the American Legion Post 233 in Loganville on May 26. Officials expect somewhere between 500 to 800 bikes to head out on the highway again this Memorial Day, maybe even more if the weather is good.

The ride, which supports the Legacy Fund, will leave, heading toward Monroe on Highway 78, at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. It winds through the country roads, down to Madison for a patriotic ceremony and then back. The riders return to Loganville for a Memorial Day celebration of family fun, food, live music and dancing.

The cost is $10 per rider and $5 for a passenger. The Legacy Fund provides scholarships for children of Soldiers who have fallen since 9-11. Additional funding goes to support a number of different veteran programs throughout the year.
